Quartix wins Technology Award in 2007 Van Fleet World Honours

22nd May 2007

Quartix has won the Technology Award in the 2007 Van Fleet World Honours. The trophy was presented at a special ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall on Thursday 17th May.

The Van Fleet World Honours are presented annually to those van manufacturers and service companies who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector. The judging panel is chaired by industry professional, George Emmerson, who has managed fleets at IBM, NHBC and Black Horse Agencies. Members of the judging panel include Ken Rogers, John Kendall, Natalie Wallis and Ross Durkin from Fleet World’s editorial team, Alan Cole of Glass’s Guide and fleet manager Jackie Pomfrett. Residual value, maintenance cost and reliability data is also provided by ALD Automotive, Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions and ING Car Lease.

Commenting on the award, Van Fleet World John Kendall said: ‘Quartix’s growth over the last six years has been quite exceptional, both in terms of the number of units installed and the profitability of the company. This latter point is of great significance in this sector as it has allowed the company to reinvest in developing proprietary new technology in the UK in an effort to maintain a degree of differentiation from its competitors.

‘The release in December last year of its latest, highly integrated vehicle telematics system has provided the potential for new applications and dramatically accelerated the company’s growth. The capability of the company and its products was amply demonstrated when it tracked all of the vehicles taking part in the MPG Marathon without a single hitch, providing accurate and detailed information back to the event’s control and communications centre,’ added Mr Kendall.
